THE STETSON

The Stetson is LBJ and LASA high school's award winning Yearbook. 

"Yearbook" is a popular class for many students to explore journalism in a serious environment. The Stetson's leadership and students' commitment to pursuing journalistic excellence is shown by the numerous awards, medals and recognitions it has won, including the National Scholastic Press (NSPA) and Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Silver Crown.

The LBJ/LASA Stetson's population is composed of 2,000 plus students from all around the Austin area, alongside its faculty, staff, parents and community. The Stetson staff maintains its own managing, editing and content writing. The Stetson's publisher is Taylor, one of the largest yearbook companies in the nation.


ORDER THE STETSON:

Please order online at Taylor Publishing Company's www.smart-pay.com or download the form, write a check to "Taylor Publishing Co." for $55 and deliver both to the attention of Journalism teacher, Janet Elbom in Room 20. (You or your student must deliver in person to obtain a receipt.) Contact jelbom[at]austinisd.org with questions.


BUSINESS ADS:

Every year, the Stetson reaches out to the business and parent community to sell advertising to show community and financial support. Business ads are appropriate for any family or area business who wants to support LBJ/LASA and promote their business to our school community. The Stetson staff will even help you create or design your advertisement!  For more information download the Ad letter, Contract and/or Size Sheet OR contact Jena Kim , Marisol Frausto or Terria Knight at the Stetson--phone 414-1913.


SENIOR ADS:

Senior parents are also encouraged to purchase Senior Ads. Here is an opportunity to express your price in your graduating student's achievements. Senior Ad deadlines was extended for the convenience of the parents because of the confusion and the lack of advertising. Senior ads are one of the main ways that the yearbook is paid for and is a once in a lifetime opportunity to lock memories in a custom designed page in the yearbook. The deadline is now anytime before the end of the year (Dec. 31st) with the size emailed to Kenneth Dang at 4hander@gmail.com so that we can at least reserve space. Any parents who have questions or need details, please contact Kenneth for that as well. The pictures for the ads are now due Friday, January 15th and the final payment is still February 1st.
